Injured hiker rescued on Walker Ranch Loop Trail

33-year-old female sustained non-life-threatening ankle injury while hiking

Boulder County, Colo. - On Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at approximately 1:22 p.m., the Boulder County Communications Center was notified of an injured hiker on the Walker Ranch Loop Trail located at 230 Bison Dr. in unincorporated Boulder County, Colorado..

A thirty-three-year-old female from Tulsa, OK. sustained a non-life-threatening ankle injury while hiking the Walker Ranch Loop Trail. Rocky Mountain Rescue Group provided a wheeled-litter evacuation to an awaiting Mountain View Fire Protection District Utility-Terrain Vehicle (UTV). The UTV then drove the injured hiker to the Ethel Harrold trailhead. Mountain View Fire Protection District transported the injured hiker to a local hospital via ambulance. The rescue lasted approximately two hours.

Agencies assisting with this rescue included: Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, Boulder County Parks and Open Space, Mountain View Fire Protection District.
