Injured hiker rescued on Dakota Ridge Trail in Boulder County, Colorado

Boulder County, Colorado

On January 22, 2019 at approximately 12:59 p.m. the Boulder County Sheriff's Office along with Rocky Mountain Rescue, Boulder Mountain Fire, American Medical Response and City of Boulder Mountain Parks and Open Space responded to the area of the 400 block of South Cedar Brook Road on the report of an injured hiker.

A 29 year-old female was hiking in the area of the Dakota Ridge Trail and called 911 when she was unable to walk off the trail due to back pain. Rescuers hiked to her location one half mile from the parking area. The female was evaluated and stabilized for transport and a drag sled was used to move her back to the parking area for transport to an area Hospital.
