Hiker becomes ill from heat related illness on the Anemone Trail

Boulder County, Colo. - On Saturday, June 11, 2022 at approximately 09:48 a.m., the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a hiker experiencing a heat related illness on the Anemone Trail.

A City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks Ranger was first to arrive with the patient and started to provide medical treatment. Rescuers from Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, Sunshine Fire Protection District, Boulder Rural Fire Protection District, Mountain View Fire Protection District and City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks assisted with the patient evacuation via a litter to an American Medical Response ambulance. The 31-year-old female from Louisville refused further medical treatment.

Agencies assisting with the rescue included: American Medical Response, Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Boulder Rural Fire Protection District, City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks, Mountain View Fire Protection District, Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, and Sunshine Canyon Fire Protection District.
