Hall Ranch Closed Tuesday, Nov. 1

Park will re-open Wednesday, Nov. 2

Boulder County, Colo. - Hall Ranch will be closed on Tuesday, Nov. 1, for aerial application of Rejuvra, an herbicide. This application is weather dependent and may be rescheduled if conditions require.

The county has an integrated weed management plan that was adopted after public input and is followed by county staff for applications like this.

The goal of this application is to provide long-term control of cheatgrass and other invasive annual weeds. Cheatgrass is a dangerous weed species that is known to carry wildfires and increase fire risk and intensity. Treatment and control will help decrease fire risk while also promoting an increase native species in the area, improving pollinator and wildlife habitat. Rejuvra is an EPA registered and approved herbicide for this type of application (EPA Registration #432-1609). Note: Rejuvra Plus is a different product and will not be used.

The herbicide treatment will not be applied within the Town of Lyons town limits, and will be buffered from private property/residences and open water.
