Free Backyard Compost Workshops for Fall

Boulder County, Colo. -Join Public Works Resource Conservation Division at one of three free workshops that will offer everything you need to know about successful garden cleanup and backyard composting in the fall. Registration is required. Learn more below.

Backyard composting is an effective way to reduce household carbon footprint and provide quality compost for use in gardens. Learn how to start and maintain a highly efficient backyard compost system by knowing what to feed your compost pile, appropriate bins and methods for our geographic region, tips and troubleshooting, and much more.

The workshops will cover each of the following topics:

  • Cleaning up the vegetable garden
  • Getting perennials ready for winter
  • Winterizing your backyard compost pile
  • Preparing for spring composting
