Fire Extinguished in Boulder County: Bunce School Road

Boulder County, Colo. - On July 9, 2024, a fire was reported in the 2000 block of Bunce School Road at 11:53 AM. The Boulder County Communication Center received the 911 call, prompting a swift response from multiple agencies.

The initial estimate of the fire was approximately 100 square feet, with flames reaching up to six feet high and creeping slowly. As a result of prompt and coordinated efforts by local and federal resources, the fire was extinguished. The total area affected by the fire was contained to a 40 x 40-foot section of private property.

During the investigation, cigarette butts and beer cans were discovered at the scene, suggesting the fire may have been human caused. The investigation is being documented under the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office case report 24-03368.

The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office urges anyone with information regarding this incident to come forward. This event serves as a critical reminder of the importance of fire safety, especially in areas prone to wildfires.

Responding agencies included the Allenspark Fire Protection District, Lefthand Fire Protection District, Boulder Emergency Squad, a deputy from the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Boulder Sheriff Fire Management, and personnel from the US Forest Service.
