Conifer Hill Lost Hiker

Boulder County, Colo - On Sunday, September 26, 2021 at approximately 11:48 AM Boulder County Communications was notified of a possible missing woman in the area of Conifer Hill Road in the northwest part of Boulder County. Boulder County Sheriff’s Office deputies originally responded to the incident to investigate. Upon their arrival deputies learned a 69-year-old female had likely been missing for 24 hours. Deputies conducted an initial search around the property but after they were unable to locate the missing female, requested additional resources to assist with the search.

Unmanned Aerial Systems, canine teams, and ground searchers were deployed to search the surrounding areas for the missing female. After almost 3 hours of searching one of the canine teams reported hearing a voice calling for help and were able to locate the missing party shortly after. The missing female reported she had been lost since Friday after taking a wrong turn while hiking off trail. The female was uninjured but was fatigued and dehydrated. Searchers provided her with food and water, after which her energy improved. With assistance from searchers, she was assisted out of the wilderness to her residence. She declined any additional medical care.

Agencies assisting with this rescue effort included: Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Boulder Emergency Squad, Front Range Rescue Dogs, Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, Lyons Fire Protection District, and Allenspark Fire Protection District.
