Closure in place 24/7 for cars, bikes, pedestrians

Boulder County, Colo. - In order to safely complete the US 287/Isabelle Road intersection safety improvement project, Isabelle Road will need to be closed in two sections over two phases starting at 7 a.m. on Monday, April 19.

Phase I:

  • Isabelle Road CLOSED between US 287 and N. 111th Street
  • 24-hours a day, seven days a week
  • No cars, bikes, or pedestrians
  • Closure will last for approximately five weeks, weather permitting
  • See a map of phase I closure

Phase II:

  • Starts after Phase I has been completed and Isabelle Road is reopened between US 287 and N. 111th
  • Isabelle Road CLOSED between N. 95th and US 287
  • 24-hours a day, seven days a week
  • No cars, bikes, or pedestrians
  • Residents of Isabelle Road along this stretch will need to access their homes from N. 95th
  • Closure will last for approximately five weeks, weather permitting

During the road closures, crews will be working 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday, to try and expedite the work and reopen the road as soon as possible. Traffic shifts on US 287 may also be necessary during working hours, so travel may be impacted on this road as well. Detours will be posted directing traffic to Arapahoe Road.

Safety improvements include:

  • Widening of Isabelle Road from 109th Street to 800 feet west of US 287
  • Striping of new buffered bike lanes on Isabelle Rod and across US 287
  • Lengthening of turn lanes on Isabelle
  • New dual left-turn lanes for westbound traffic
  • New traffic signals on raised islands
  • New pedestrian crossings
  • New street lighting
  • Realignment of Isabelle Road and 109th Street intersection
