Cherryvale disturbance
Thirty year-old male dies from suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Boulder County, Colo. -
On October 19, 2019, at approximately 08:30 am, deputies responded to an address in the 700 block of Cherryvale Road on the report of a disturbance that involved a male and female arguing. The first deputy to arrive on scene could hear a verbal argument coming from inside the garage area. As the deputy attempted contact with the residents he heard a single gunshot followed by a female screaming. Deputies forced entry into the residence where a thirty-year-old man was found inside the garage with fatal injuries. The female was uninjured.
Sheriff’s detectives and Boulder County Coroner’s Office investigators have launched an investigation into the man’s death. Based on their preliminary investigation and evidence from the scene, foul play is not suspected, and it appears the man’s gunshot wound was self-inflicted. The official cause and manor of death will be determined by the coroner’s office upon the completion of their investigation.
In addition to sheriff’s deputies, the Rocky Mountain Fire Protection District and officers from the Boulder Police Department assisted in the initial response.
