Boulder County, CO – On Tuesday, October 27, Boulder County Elections will celebrate Vote Early Day at Happy Day Plants in Longmont during the morning commute, visit CU’s campus during the mid-day to rally students to vote, and then host evening celebration / Election Champion Workshop at Relish Food Hall in Louisville to close out the day.

During the Vote Early Day events, voters can drop off their mail ballots to election judges, ask questions of the Clerk and elections staff, and get elections swag (while supplies last). The evening event will also feature our final Election Champions workshop ahead of the November 3 General Election.

Earlier in the month, Bouder County Elections hosted five Election Champion events, training over 160 community members. Due to the success of those events, we decided to schedule one additional event on Vote Early Day.

Vote Early Day is a nationwide movement of over 2,700 election administrators, nonprofits, and businesses that encourages Americans to vote early to avoid last-minute problems. First celebrated in 2020, the annual civic holiday falls on Saturday, October 24, this year. Our county decided to celebrate the day on Tuesday, so that voters may visit our Vote Centers during the day as needed.

“Hosting Vote Early Day events has become a staple for our office,” said Boulder County Clerk & Recorder Molly Fitzpatrick. “Voting early gives voters more time to address any issues with their ballot, like signature discrepancies. It also helps our office process ballots more efficiently, allowing us to have a more complete set of results on Election Night.”

Launched in early October this year, participants of Boulder County's Election Champion workshops learn about how elections are run, how federal changes can affect elections both close to home and nationwide, and where to find trustworthy information. The goal is to equip voters with accurate information so they feel confident answering questions from friends, family, and neighbors.

“We’ve been thrilled by the response to the Election Champions program,” said Molly Fitzpatrick. “It’s encouraging to see so many people eager to help us restore clarity and reinforce confidence in our election processes.”
