Boulder County Commissioners’ Town Hall on the Eldorado Springs Local Improvement District (LID)

LID discussion on Tuesday, March 19 at Mountain View Fire Rescue

Boulder County, Colo. Residents are invited to join the Boulder County Commissioners for a Town Hall on Tuesday, March 19 from 5:30 to 7 p.m., to discuss the Eldorado Springs Local Improvement District (LID). The Town Hall will take place in the Mountain View Fire Rescue, 4390 Eldorado Springs Drive, Boulder.

The current Eldorado Springs LID was formed in 2003 as a means to pay for construction of the wastewater treatment plant and collection system servicing the Eldorado Springs community’s wastewater. The voter-approved LID included the creation of an assessment on residents of Eldorado Springs starting in 2004 to pay back loans for the construction of the plant and collection system.

Statute requires that LIDs must be dissolved once the local improvements which the district was created to fund are complete and any debt incurred has been paid off. County Attorney Olivia Lucas will lead a discussion on legal mechanisms for continued payment for operation of the wastewater treatment plant into the future, including paying for operations and maintenance once the LID is dissolved.

Please note: there will not be a virtual option for this Town Hall, however, all residents who cannot attend are always welcome to email commissioners@bouldercounty.gov with questions or to request materials shared at the event.
