Boulder County Board of Health Appoints Public Health Interim Executive Director

Boulder, Colo. - Boulder County Public Health (BCPH) Executive Director Camille Rodriguez has resigned from her role with the agency, effective July 1, 2022.

At tonight’s special Board of Health meeting, BCPH’s Deputy Director Lexi Nolen was appointed to the role of Interim Executive Director for a period of six months with a possible extension.

Rodriguez took over the position in June 2021 after Jeff Zayach, who held the position for 12 years, retired and led BCPH through several public health emergencies, including the omicron surge and Marshall fire.

“Ms. Rodriguez has been a committed public servant, and we are grateful for her public health expertise and guidance throughout the past year. We wish Camille the best and appreciate her willingness to assist with a smooth transition,” said Nolen. “Until a new Executive Director is appointed, I look forward to ensuring BCPH continues creating a socially just and inclusive community where all people have an opportunity for a healthy life.”

The Board will oversee the process of permanently filling the position and will work with BCPH leadership to ensure a smooth transition for Boulder County’s staff, partners and community.
