Boulder County Assessor Cynthia Braddock named 2024 Colorado Assessor of the Year

Boulder County, Colo. - In recognition of both consistent professionalism and leadership, Boulder County Assessor Cynthia Braddock has been named the 2024 Colorado Assessor of the Year by the Colorado Assessors’ Association. Braddock was commended by her peers for her steadfast service in many different roles and for setting a high standard for all who work to serve the public.

The award, voted on by association members from throughout the state, was presented to Braddock at the Association’s bi-annual meeting in Pueblo on December 4th.

I’m humbled to be recognized by my colleagues. This award is a testament to the efforts of my amazing staff. Though it may be my name on the door, it is the staff who daily provide excellent service to the public.” said Braddock.

Braddock, who joined the Assessor’s Office in 1995 has served in many roles. She served as the Chief Deputy Assessor from 2013 to 2016 before being appointed Assessor in 2017 to fill the seat left vacant by the retirement of Jerry Roberts. She was then elected by Boulder County voters to fill the position in 2018 and re-elected in 2022.

The achievements that made her a clear choice for the award highlight both professional ability and strong personal traits. Since 2017, Braddock and her staff have worked diligently to make the Boulder County Assessor’s Office a model of efficiency, effectiveness, and customer service. Braddock has led major initiatives that have helped the Assessor’s Office usher in new technologies that provide improved efficiencies in appraisal processes, such as web forms, mobile software for field appraisers, and movement to more detailed and accurate methods of re-appraising property. Braddock has worked tirelessly to provide innovative solutions to the challenges of property valuation.

Braddock’s leadership of the Assessor’s Office response to the unexpected trials of the COVID Pandemic, the Marshall fire, and the unprecedented increase in property values statewide have shown her capacity for dedication, hard work, clear thinking, and compassion.

The recognition of Braddock as Assessor of the Year continues a standard of excellence for the Boulder County Assessor’s Office. Former Boulder County Assessor Cindy Domenico took home Assessor of the Year honors in 2003.
