Better understand the effects of poverty in Boulder County — Participate in a poverty simulation Saturday, April 27 in Lafayette

These three hours will open your eyes about the lives of the working poor

Boulder County, Colo. - Understanding about poverty in our community will make a difference in how you react to it. To help fill that knowledge gap, the Boulder County Circles Campaign is holding a Poverty Simulation on Saturday, April 27. Take three hours out of your weekend and learn what the working poor must deal with every day.

What: Circles Campaign Poverty Simulation
When: Saturday, April 27, 11 a.m.-2 p.m..
Where: Sister Carmen Community Center, 655 Aspen Ridge Dr., Lafayette, CO
RSVP: Reservations required at 303-441-1503 or circlesinfo@bouldercounty.org

Participants in this dynamic, hands-on experience are given a budget to work with and then must make the real choices required of families with limited resources. Can you afford healthy food for your family, and if not who goes hungry? What bills do you decide to pay this month? What do you do when a child or parent gets sick and you don’t have insurance?

These three hours can help you better understand the problems faced by many in our community. Three hours that can guide how you respond to poverty in Boulder County.

The event is free, but reservations are required. For more information about the event or to RSVP, contact 303-441-1503 or circlesinfo@bouldercounty.org.
