Arrest made in local homicide

Male found dead on Flagg Drive, suspect arrested

Boulder County, Colo. - On Thursday, June 2, 2022 at approximately 12:50 p.m., the Boulder County Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a death inside a residence in the 12100 block of Flagg Drive in unincorporated Boulder County, Colorado near the City of Lafayette. The initial investigation by first responders on scene revealed that the death was suspicious in nature. Detectives with the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) became involved in the investigation and were able to obtain a search warrant for the residence.

After further investigation, the death was determined to be a homicide. Detectives and deputies with the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, investigators with the Boulder County Coroner’s Office, and criminalists with the Boulder Police Department worked late into the night on June 2 and again throughout the day on June 3. At around 6:45 p.m. on Friday, June 3, detectives took a male suspect into custody at a residence in the City of Lafayette with assistance from deputies with the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office and officers with the Lafayette Police Department. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and was transported to jail.

The investigation is ongoing therefore the arrestee’s name and photograph cannot be released at this time. The identity of the victim, a 34-year-old male resident of the area, will be provided by the Boulder County Coroner’s Office at a later date. This homicide appears to be an isolated incident and there is not any threat to the community.
