Boulder County, Colo. - Boulder County today (Sept. 29) opened applications from community members interested in serving on the Community Impact Board and Technical Advisory Cohort. The new volunteer bodies that will help guide how the county's voter-approved Mental and Behavioral Health Tax funding is awarded, implemented, and monitored.
Voters approved the county's first Mental and Behavioral Health Tax in November 2025, making $4.1 million available through a competitive funding process for treatment, recovery, and prevention services across three grant programs:
- Equitable Access Grants
- Peer Services – Community Providers
- Community Prevention Services and Training.
The Community Impact Board and Technical Advisory Cohort will provide community input and technical expertise as the county reviews applications, awards funding and tracks outcomes. Boulder County is prioritizing applicants who reflect the communities most affected by behavioral health needs, including people with lived experience, unhoused and formerly unhoused individuals, non-English speaking community members, and other historically underserved populations.
"This is an opportunity for community members who want to help align and maximize impact of these funds," said Robin Bohannan, Community Services Director.
