21 year old male found Deceased near the Mount Sanitas Trail

Boulder County, Colo. -

On Sunday, May 15, 2022 at approximately 3:22 p.m., the Boulder County Communications Center received a report from a member of the public of a possibly deceased male just off the Sanitas Ridge Trail at the Mount Sanitas Open Space.

Boulder County Communications dispatched Sheriff’s Deputies along with Boulder Mountain Fire Protection District, City of Boulder Open Space Mountain Parks Rangers, and Paramedics from American Medical Response. Upon their arrival, they determined that the individual was a 21-year old male who was unfortunately deceased.

Detectives from the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office and investigators from the Boulder County Coroner’s Office were notified and responded to investigate. Upon completion of the on-site investigation, the deceased male was evacuated to the trailhead by rescuers from Rocky Mountain Rescue Group

The death investigation is on-going. At this time, foul play is not suspected. The official cause and manner of death, along with identification of the deceased, will be determined by the Boulder County Coroner’s Office

Personnel from the following agencies responded to assist: The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, City of Boulder Open Space Mountain Parks Rangers, Boulder Mountain Fire Protection District, American Medical Response, and Boulder County Coroner’s Office.
