A happy family portrait with three generations

Human Services Advisory Committee and Family Resource Network (HSAC/FRN)

Findhelp Pilot Project

The Family Resource Network is excited to announce the launch of Findhelp as the region’s county-wide resource directory in partnership with Family Connects and WellMind Connection! By working together to build a single list of safety net services for our community that always has the most current information, providers will no longer need to create separate resource directories. Findhelp makes it easy for organizations to claim and update their program information so that people can quickly connect to the help they need in their preferred language.

Register for a Findhelp Community Partner Training in February to find out how your organization can use the platform. Want to stay connected? Sign-up on the interest list to receive updates, reminders, and training announcements.

The Human Services Advisory Committee is now more commonly known as the Family Resource Network Regional Council, or FRN Regional Council.

The vision of the FRN is that families in Boulder County are valued, healthy, and thriving. FRN members work to improve the self-reliance outcomes of families and the social, emotional and academic outcomes of children and youth in Boulder County. This is done through two levels- the Regional Council and Local Area Collaboratives.

The FRN uses a two-generation approach (2Gen) in serving families. This approach addresses the needs of both children and the adults in their lives together. More information about the 2Gen approach can be found at the Aspen Institute website.

The FRN Regional Council is comprised of senior leadership from local government, school districts, and service providers. These partners address a broad range of basic needs across the county and agree to work together to provide these services in the most effective way. They can make decisions collaboratively that can improve how services are provided to families. The Regional Council meets every other month.

Local Area Collaboratives are comprised of direct services providers in the four major regions of Boulder County- Boulder, East County, Longmont, and the Mountains. These service providers know their communities and the unique needs and strengths that each community has. They can respond to the needs of families quickly, and they can inform and make policy recommendations to the Regional Council to improve services provided to families. LAC work groups meet monthly and the larger LACs meet regularly throughout the year.

20 organizations across Boulder County hold seats on the FRN Regional Council. Our 2024 FRN Regional Council membership includes:

  • Whitney Wilcox, Community Initiatives Manager
  • Liz Izaguirre, FRN Coordinator

FRN Regional Council meetings are held the second Thursday of odd-numbered months.

  • Date: Second Thursday of odd-numbered months
  • Time: 3:00 – 4:30 p.m.

Family Resource Network Call to Action

As part of their advocacy work, leaders from the Boulder County Family Resource Network (FRN) come together to ask for support for the community’s social safety net. These campaigns highlight how families with low incomes in Boulder County face challenges as more people need help, but less funding is available. FRN members stress the importance of the community supporting organizations that provide this critical assistance. Watch the October 31, 2024 press conference or read this article to hear stories from our community and learn more. Ready to help? Community-Wide Available Rentals Webpage

The Family Resource Network worked with All Roads, Boulder County Department of Housing, Emergency Family Assistance Association, OUR Center, and Sister Carmen Community Center to create the Community-Wide Available Rentals webpage. Visit this site to learn about low-cost housing units across Boulder County. Volunteers update the housing lists about once per week.
