The Boulder County Board of Health (BOH) consists of five volunteer Boulder County residents appointed by the Boulder County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) to serve five-year, staggered terms. The BOH was re-established by the Colorado Public Health Act of 2008 (Colorado Revised Statutes [C.R.S.] Section §25-1-508) and serves as the governing board for Boulder County Public Health (BCPH), whose mission is to protect, promote, and enhance the health and well-being of all people and the environment in Boulder County.
BOH Responsibilities
BOH responsibilities include assuring appropriate policy for BCPH, hiring and supervising the Boulder County public health director, approving the department’s budget, and providing oversight of department operations.

Second Monday of each month
5:30 p.m.

Members of the public can attend virtually.
Special meetings may be called at the discretion of the Board of Health president, BCPH executive director, or a majority of the Board members. Additional special meetings, study sessions, and executive sessions are held, as required, and all meetings are conducted and open to the public in accordance with C.R.S. §24-6-401, as amended (“Colorado Open Meetings Law”).
