Kinship Support Services

Kinship Support Services through the Family Outreach Program provides specialized resource and referral to any family raising relative children in Boulder County. We have bilingual support staff to assist Spanish speaking families.

Our community is seeing a growing number of grandparents, aunts, uncles and other family members raising relative children. Through community resources and education, the kinship program strives to strengthen and empower families, helping to create a secure, safe and stable home.

Eligibility

Eligibility

Any relative that is raising another family member’s child; including grandparents, aunts, uncles and older siblings.
Services are offered regardless of income, age, legal status or child welfare involvement.

Family Support

  • Helps families create a plan for today, tomorrow and the future.
  • paperwork and application assistance.
  • Provides a network of families raising relative children.
  • Supports families in the new role of caring for a grandchild, niece, nephew, or other relative child.

  • Financial assistance
  • Counseling & mental health services
  • Housing
  • Senior Services
  • Special education resources
  • Medical, dental and vision providers
  • Extracurricular activities
  • Food Stamps, Medicaid and Child Only TANF
  • Other community resources

Kinship Discussion Groups – provide families with the chance to meet and connect with other kinship families in the community so they can share and learn from each other.

  • Groups are offered in Longmont & Louisville monthly.
  • Child care and refreshments are provided.
