Please review the program eligibility before making an appointment.

The Immunization Program educates community members, healthcare providers, schools, and daycare facilities about childhood and adult vaccines and vaccine-preventable diseases to improve immunization rates and health equity across the lifespan. Routinely recommended vaccines for children and adults are available at our clinics and community events, as well as during outbreaks and epidemics.

Vaccines for Children Program

The Immunization Program provides routinely recommended immunizations for eligible children from birth through 18 years of age.

Immunizations are available for eligible children aged 0-18 years through the Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program, which provides immunizations at no cost to children who might not otherwise be vaccinated due to financial limitations.

A child is eligible for the VFC Program if they are younger than 19 years of age AND meet one of the following criteria:

  • Medicaid-eligible
  • Uninsured
  • Underinsured (has health insurance, but vaccines aren’t covered, or only certain vaccines are covered)
  • American Indian or Alaska Native

Cost

Vaccines provided through the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program are free to parents or guardians—there is no cost for the vaccines themselves. However, a $21.50 administration fee is charged for each vaccine given. No child will be denied services if their family is unable to pay this fee.

Payment can be made by credit card, cash, or check. Please note: a processing fee applies to all credit card payments.

BCPH cannot accept Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+) or private insurance.

Other Resources

The Boulder County Immunization Program provides routinely recommended immunizations for eligible adults 19 and older through the Section 317 Immunization Program. Eligible adults are those who are uninsured or underinsured (i.e., they have no coverage for vaccines or coverage for only some vaccines).

  • Our program cannot accept adult Medicaid or private insurance.
  • If you are an insured adult, some adult vaccines are available for a fee. See the vaccine price list for adults.
  • Fees can be paid with a credit card, cash or check. A processing fee will be added to all credit card charges.

Find free vaccine providers

People with insurance coverage for vaccines who wish to receive a vaccine through BCPH can obtain a limited selection of vaccines at full cost. BCPH cannot bill private insurance and must collect the full amount at the time of service. People with private medical insurance can get most vaccines through their healthcare provider or local pharmacy.

Fees can be paid by credit card, cash, or check. A processing fee will be added to all credit card charges.
