Pertussis Vaccines
There are two vaccines that can provide protection against pertussis: Tdap and DTap.
Tdap, or Tetanus, Diphtheria, & Pertussis
Tdap is a newly approved vaccine for adolescents and adults that protects against tetanus, diphtheria, and Pertussis. This is the first vaccine available to protect older children and adults against pertussis (whooping cough).

DTap, or Diphtheria, Tetanus, & Pertussis
DTap is for infants. Typically a shot routine is begun at two, four, and six months and continued later within the first few years of an infant’s life.
