Drop by anytime during the open house to go inside the historic schoolhouse where students studied and played from 1880 to the World War II era. Volunteers will be on hand to share the school’s history and restoration with visitors. If time allows, you can take part in a game or spelling bee. Park rangers wear many different hats in order to perform their work of protecting the environment and helping visitors recreate responsibly in nature. Join us as we learn about what a park ranger does by completing different activity stations related to duties like firefighting, wildlife management, and interpretation as we hike along the 1.7-mile Anne U. White trail. Participants can arrive at the trailhead anytime between 9:30-11:30 and complete the hike at their own pace while stopping at the different fun and engaging activity stations along the way.
