The Boulder County Historic Preservation Advisory Board (HPAB) is an advisory board appointed by the Board of County Commissioners to provide guidance to the county on historic preservation issues. Its primary focus is to review structures and sites for historic significance and to review building or development plans which might affect these resources. HPAB also reviews landmark applications and must approve building plans which result in the alteration of an historic landmark. Each HPAB meeting is a public hearing, and at the beginning of each meeting anyone may address the Board with historic preservation concerns or questions. The NEPPIDAC is an independent committee that provides Boulder County Commissioners with recommendations regarding the administration of the Nederland EcoPass Public Improvement District. While the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) has the legal authority and responsibility to make decisions regarding the operation and finances of the District, the Committee members serve in an advisory capacity to the BOCC. The Committee acts as a communication link between the property owners and residents of the District and the BOCC. The Committee shall advise the BOCC and the Public Works Department on issues pertinent to the implementation of the public improvements serving the District. Join Public Works and consulting staff who are currently working on final designs for improvements to the intersection of 61st Street and Valmont Road that will increase the safety of all roadway users. The project team will present designs and discuss travel impacts when construction begins, which will include a full closure of 61st/63rd Street between Valmont and Jay roads. The proposed plans provide eastbound Valmont Road cyclists with a less-stressful alternative for making a left-hand turn onto northbound 61st Street. This will be accomplished by constructing an off-street box that will have the capacity to accommodate a queue of up to eight cyclists. The project will reconstruct the existing intersection to provide clearly defined spaces for bicyclists and motorists that include the construction of an off-street bike box and the construction of a dedicated right-turn lane on southbound 61st Street at the intersection. Additionally, the project will construct buffered bikeable shoulders on 61st Street just north of the intersection. |
