The Boulder County Housing Authority (BCHA) works with public and private partners to build more affordable rental housing in our community. One way we do this is through Special Limited Partnerships (SLPs).
SLPs are partnerships that let BCHA join with developers to create housing that meets Boulder County’s needs and priorities. When BCHA is part of a project through an SLP, the developer can qualify for sales and property tax exemptions as long as BCHA keeps ownership in the project.
BCHA’s goal is to make this process clear, fair, and consistent. We use the processes and criteria in the Special Limited Partnership Policy (link below) to decide whether a particular SLP application will be accepted and, if accepted and reviewed, whether the proposed SLP is a good fit. Our focus is on creating housing that is affordable, accessible, inclusive, and environmentally responsible so everyone in Boulder County has the chance to thrive.
