Boulder County Coroner’s Office Announces “Facing the Mourning” Grief Support Group

Boulder County, Colo. - The Boulder County Coroner’s Office Family Assistance Unit is pleased to announce Facing the Mourning, a free, four-week grief support group for Boulder County residents who are navigating the death of someone significant in their lives.

Facing the Mourning is an interactive support group designed to help participants move through the grieving process using visual and thought-provoking activities. Throughout four sessions, participants will have opportunities to share their stories, build memorials, compose letters, write in journals, and develop personal goals and milestones.

The program was developed by the HeartLight Center and is designed to support individuals and family members experiencing many different types of loss. Rather than approaching grief as something with a specific timeline or a single path forward, Facing the Mourning provides a supportive environment where participants can explore their individual grief while connecting with others who understand the experience of loss.

The upcoming group will meet in person on Wednesdays from 6–7:30 p.m. in Longmont. Participants are asked to attend all four sessions:
