Other Comments:
Boulder County is procuring nutritional food services to support its Head Start program serving children ages three to five years old and is looking to expand menu offerings that better reflect culturally responsive, child-friendly food options. Boulder County anticipates this procurement will result in a long-term contract, with the intent of establishing a partnership for up to five years. This project is funded through a Federal Head Start grant, with meal costs reimbursed to the program through the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). All services must comply with CACFP meal pattern requirements, Head Start Performance Standards, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations governing food safety and public health. The work being performed consists of preparing and delivering daily meals for Head Start children enrolled in the program. The selected vendor will provide one breakfast, one lunch, and one afternoon snack per child per school day for approximately 110 children. Meals will be delivered on school days only during the school year, which typically runs from August through May, based on a calendar provided annually by the County.
