The Boulder Canyon Trail is Now Open
Boulder County, Colo. - The Boulder Canyon Trail is open as of today, April 3, at 4 p.m. Staff have implemented a temporary repair so the full length of the trail can safely reopen to pedestrians and cyclists.
The repairs at the bridge have significantly narrowed the trail to approximately 6 feet wide instead of the typical 8–10 feet. A chain fence is in place to block off the damaged area beneath the trail surface.
Public safety remains the highest priority. Trail users are asked to pass with care through the narrowed section, be alert to others, and allow additional space and time when navigating the area.
For your safety, please do not approach or attempt to access the fenced‑off area. Photos of the damage are posted on the Boulder Canyon Trail webpage. Please view the photos online instead of entering the compromised area.
This is a temporary fix. Work towards a long‑term repair solution is underway and will require additional closures in the future. Staff will closely monitor the temporary repair to ensure it remains safe. Short‑notice, brief closures may be needed to maintain or reinforce the temporary repair. Updates will be provided as they become available.
