Mobility for All Ruby Bridges Day at the Boulder Public Library
We recently hosted a successful community event honoring civil rights icon Ruby Bridges, drawing about 40 attendees to the Boulder Public Library. Families enjoyed book readings and crafts, while teens and adults joined a restorative justice dialogue connecting Ruby Bridges’ legacy to today’s social climate. The event fostered meaningful community connection and supported our Safe Routes to School mission, with contributions from Wildfire Partners and Natural Highs.
City of Boulder's New Blue Envelope Program

The Boulder Police Department has launched the Blue Envelope Program to help officers communicate more effectively with individuals with disabilities. Participants fill out a blue envelope with important information and keep it in their vehicle to share during situations like traffic stops.
The program aims to reduce misunderstandings and improve safety. Community members can pick up an envelope at the department or request one by mail. It’s the first program of its kind in Colorado.
Watch this short video explaining the program.
Food Assistance Resources

The House of Representatives passed a funding bill to end the longest government shutdown in history. The president signed the legislation to officially end a 43-day stalemate.
The bill funds the government through the end of January, extends funding for SNAP benefits for a full year and reverses shutdown-related layoffs of federal workers. If you or anyone you know is in need of immediate assistance, visit one of these resources for more information.

Adopt a Spot
The Transportation and Mobility Department is seeking individuals and organizations to adopt areas in the city—such as medians, paths, roadways, transit stops, or small parks—to help keep them clean and free of debris.
Volunteers can choose their location, set their own schedule, and commit for one year with the option to renew.
The revitalized Adopt-a-Spot program supports city maintenance staff through routine cleanup, beautification, and hazard reporting.
Participants will be recognized for helping improve Boulder’s public spaces and overall community well-being.
