Press Release – Tequila Sunset Enterprise
Boulder County, Colo. - Following an extensive investigation conducted by the Lafayette Police Department, Broomfield Police Department, Westminster Police Department, and our District Attorney’s Office, the District Attorney’s Office announced today the indictment of four (4) adults for violations of the Colorado Organized Crime Control Act (COCCA), a class two felony, along with other charges and the indictment of a fifth defendant (Emiley Webb) for the charge of False Information to Pawnbroker Violation, a class four felony.
The conduct of the criminal enterprise was to break entry into liquor stores and other retail stores to steal bottles of liquor and merchandise. The enterprise broke into stores across the front range – targeting stores in Arvada, Brighton, Broomfield, Erie, Lafayette, Louisville, Northglenn, Superior, Westminster, and other locations. The members of this crime ring used stolen vehicles, mostly Jeeps. Members of this crime ring would then sell the stolen merchandise to others.
The following indicted members of Tequilla Sunset Enterprise have been taken into custody with the following case numbers and bond amounts:
Jaramillo-Trujillo, Grantham, Valdez, and Akridge face a sentence of up to twenty-four years in prison on the COCCA, class two felony charges as well as additional prison sentences for the felony theft charges; Emiley Webb faces a sentence of up to six years in prison on the Providing False Information to a Pawn Broker, class four felony.
In summary, the Tequila Sunset Enterprise is allegedly responsible for thefts that resulted in over $153,272 in theft and over $54,005 in property damage.

“When cases involve numerous suspects and unfold over time, strong collaboration between agencies becomes vital to a successful investigation,” Broomfield Chief of Police Enea Hempelmann said. “I’m incredibly proud of the Broomfield Police Department Investigations Team and our law enforcement partners for their hard work in making these arrests."
District Attorney Michael Dougherty stated, “This indictment is the culmination of outstanding teamwork between investigators from different jurisdictions. Through these joint efforts, this crime ring has been brought to a halt. This indictment reflects why these strong working relationships make a real difference. Our team will fight to uphold the rule of law and hold this crime ring accountable.”
As in every criminal case, these charges are merely an accusation and the defendants are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty.
