UPDATE: Dec. 5 Public Meeting on Proposed Building Code Updates

Attend the public meeting virtually, or in-person in Boulder

Boulder County, Colo. - Due to unforeseeable events, two of our Board of Review members will be unable to make the Board of Review Meeting that was scheduled for today (Thursday, Dec. 5) at 3 p.m. This means that the Board of Review meeting will have to be canceled due to a lack of quorum (two voting members are needed to hold a Board of Review Meeting).

Instead of a Board of Review Meeting, this same time and location will be used to hold an open Public Meeting where you are invited to hear from Boulder County Staff about the proposed code and to share your feedback about the current draft.

What: Public Meeting on Proposed Building Code Amendment Updates
When: 3 p.m., Thursday Dec. 5, 2024
Where: In-person at Community Planning & Permitting Department, 2045 13th Street, Boulder CO, 80302, or join online. View information on how to join the meeting virtually.

The Board of Review will next meet on Thursday, December 19 at 3 p.m. to formally discuss the proposed code.

Please provide any written feedback you may have to buildingcodeupdate@bouldercounty.gov. All feedback sent to this email address will become part of the public record for this docket and will be provided to both the Board of Review members, as well as the Boulder County Commissioners when the docket goes before them in January.

For more information about the code update please visit the Board of Review webpage.

Background

Boulder County is in the process of updating its building code and related amendments from the 2015 to 2021 I-Codes. The initial draft of the code updates are available for review:

The county aims to adopt the updated building codes in early 2025, and we value the input of our licensed professionals throughout this process.

As a reminder, the Boulder County Building Code Amendments apply in the unincorporated areas of Boulder County, not in incorporated cities or towns like Boulder or Louisville. View the Boulder County Building Code Amendments page for more information.
