Boulder County Public Works has started a culvert construction project on Riverside Drive/CR 103 at Cave Creek that requires a full closure of Riverside Drive for all travelers at this location through July, weather permitting. During the road closure, properties located west of Cave Creek (uphill) will need to use the Peak To Peak Highway/CO 72 for access, and properties located east of Cave Creek (downhill) will need to use South St. Vrain Drive/CO 7 for access. The project includes the construction of a new culvert system that will accommodate larger flows from Cave Creek into South St. Vrain Creek, which will help prevent overtopping of the road and a possible crossing washout during flood events. Repaving of the construction zone will take place at the end of the project.
