Vape Users Sought for Focus Group on Device Disposal

Boulder County, Colo. - Boulder County Public Health and the Public Works Department are looking for a few volunteers who currently vape or have previously vaped to take part in a focus group from 6 to 8 p.m., next Wednesday, Feb. 28 in Boulder that will assist the county with learning how to help people properly dispose of unwanted vaping devices. Focus group participants will be provided dinner and a $25 Amazon gift card. Group size is limited, so please RSVP as soon as possible to be included in this important study. RSVP at www.boco.org/vapeFG. Those selected to take part in the focus group will receive a follow-up email with the meeting location and more instructions.

The Tobacco Education and Prevention Partnership program at Boulder County Public Health in partnership with the Public Works’ Hazardous Materials Management Program, with funding from the Colorado Department of Public Health and the Environment, has engaged the Product Stewardship Institute (PSI) to assist with developing policies that would give local governments in Colorado and around the nation options to help fund and manage programs for disposing of vape devices. We need input from people who currently use or have used vapes to better understand which policies would be most beneficial and feasible.

Questions can be directed to Amanda Trinh atrinh@bouldercounty.gov or Hanz Atia with PSI at hanz@productstewardship.us.
