Siberian Elm Removal at Pella Crossing
Project Date: | Sat, September 16, 2023 9:00 am - 12:00 pm |
Opportunity Type: | One-Time Volunteer Opportunity |
Department: | Parks & Open Space |
Category: | Open Space, Environment, and Gardening |
Location: | Pella Crossing |
Program Summary: | We will be assisting Boulder County Parks and Open Space staff with the removal of Siberian Elm trees at Pella Crossing. These trees are invasive and non-native. By removing them, we will be able to continue with treating this area to return to a diverse and healthy ecosystem. Volunteers will be using loppers and hand saws to cut down smaller trees. We will then drag these downed trees to large piles so that they can be chipped or used as fish habitat. |
