Don't forget to apply for your Use Tax rebate
Everyone who lost a home in either the Marshall or Cal-Wood Fires and is rebuilding on their affected property qualifies for the county’s Use Tax Rebate. The rebate is 100% of county use tax paid at the time the permit was issued with a maximum cap of $3,500 for permit’s issued in 2022 and a maximum cap of $4,200 for permit’s issued in 2023-24. This increase in 2023-24 is taking into account the increase in use tax resulting from November’s voter-approved ballot measures.
Grant applications are open for small businesses impacted by the Marshall Fire
Boulder County and the State of Colorado are partnering with Colorado Enterprise Fund to offer grant funding for for-profit small businesses impacted by the Marshall Fire and Straight-Line Wind event.
The Marshall Fire Small Business Grants Program will provide a total of $1 million in grants through this one-time competitive grant program. The maximum grant amount per business is $20,000, which is anticipated to be distributed in May.
The grants are intended to help eligible small businesses that have incurred economic loss or increased business expenses due to the Marshall Fire by providing support toward the retention and/or creation of low- and middle-income full-time jobs in the impacted area.

Marshall Fire rebuild educational series recordings available online
The Home Builders Association of Metro Denver’s Marshall Fire Task Force has hosted 21 free educational sessions for residents and businesses impacted by the Marshall Fire. The sessions include advice on selecting builders and contractors, understanding contracts, legal issues and insurance, securing financing and loans, and much more. View the sessions.
United Policyholders' insurance and recovery one year survey
United Policyholders, in partnership with the Colorado Division of Insurance, is conducting a survey of Marshall Fire survivors after one year. The purpose of this survey is to track progress and problems throughout the long term recovery, inform United Policyholders on how they can tailor their Roadmap to Recovery program to better support affected communities, and provide data needed to better advocate for fair insurance practices in Colorado and other states.
2023 Disaster Education & Outreach Series returns in April
Louisville's 2023 Disaster Education & Outreach Series returns in April with a program focused on Lessons Learned on Fire Behavior from Marshall Fire. Hear from experts on the Marshall Fire Facilitated Learning Analysis and what we’ve learned about weather/atmospheric conditions and fire behavior.
The program will be held on Thursday, April 20 from 6–8 PM at the Louisville Recreation & Senior Center, and will also stream via Zoom. Residents of Superior and Boulder County are also welcome to attend.
