A program of counseling, information and referral provided by advocates from the Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Nonviolence for female inmates who have been abused and battered.
Due to the confidentiality of the programs, no figures are available on the annual number of participants from the jail.
Education
The Safehouse also provides an Education Class held in the Women’s Housing Unit for Women of Domestic Violence. Classes meet one time a week for a hour and a half per session.
This is a mandatory class for Women Arrested on Domestic Violence Charges or Assault.
