Ballot includes Federal, State, and County Races

Boulder County, Colo. – This June, the Democratic and Republican parties are holding primary elections for federal, state, and county-level offices. No minor parties are holding primaries this year.

Election Day is Tuesday, June 28, 2022, but ballots will be mailed to eligible voters starting Monday, June 6. Because Colorado does not have a voter registration deadline, eligible voters can register and vote up to and including Election Day.

For this election, voters must be registered as a Democrat, Republican, or Unaffiliated to participate. Unless a ballot preference has been specified in their voter registration record, unaffiliated voters will be mailed both the Democratic and Republican Party ballots but can only vote and return one. Boulder County Elections recommends that unaffiliated voters select a ballot preference ahead of time in their online voter registration if they are ready. This way they will only receive one ballot and help save paper and taxpayer resources. Those who wish to participate in the June Primary can visit www.GoVoteColorado.gov to register to vote or check/update their voter registration.

Important Dates & Deadlines:

• Wednesday, May 25 – Preferred county deadline* for party-affiliated voters to change or withdraw their party affiliation if they wish to vote in a different party’s primary for this election. This is also the preferred deadline for unaffiliated voters to specify a ballot preference in their voter registration if they wish. Otherwise, they may receive both major party ballots but can only vote and return one.
• Monday, June 6 – Last day for party-affiliated voters to change/withdraw their party affiliation. This is also the last day for unaffiliated voters to specify a ballot preference in their voter registration if they choose (optional).
• Monday, June 20 – Vote Centers open for in-person registration, voting, and voter services. This is also the last day voters can be mailed a ballot or replacement ballot.
• Tuesday, June 28 – Election Day! Last day to vote. All ballots are due by 7 p.m.

Voters who were displaced by the Marshall Fire but intend to rebuild / return can remain registered at their former residence but should update their mailing address in their voter registration at www.GoVoteColorado.gov as mail ballots cannot be forwarded. Voters who were displaced but have permanently relocated should update their voter registration with their new residential address.
