Stuck Tuber rescued
Boulder County, Colo - On Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at approximately 17:35, Boulder County Communications was notified of a tuber who was stuck on the far shore of the South St. Vrain in Meadows Park in Lyons, CO. Shortly after, at 17:39 Boulder County Communications received an additional call of two tubers who were calling for help and floating down the South Saint Vrain in Meadows Park as well. These two tubers were determined to be related to the stuck tuber and were not in need of any assistance themselves. The two additional tubers were able to get back to the park without assistance.
The 30-year-old female, who was stuck on the far shore of the creek, was unable to get back to park as she was cold and nervous to get back in the water. Swiftwater rescuers from Lyons Fire Protection District were able to get across the creek and access the stuck female. They evaluated her for injuries and were able to assist her walking upstream along the bank of the creek to an area of lower water flow. The stuck female was provided a flotation device and a helmet for additional safety. The stuck individual reported that she was uninjured and was released on her own recognizance.
