The Land Use code update began with the creation of the Eldorado Springs Planning Committee (ESPC). The ESPC was comprised of community members tasked to explore and propose specific regulations to implement the plan. After numerous committee and public meetings, the ESPC concluded its work in May 2011 by finalizing a draft proposal for new zoning regulations.
In May 2011, Land Use staff started work to draft a staff-proposed set of zoning regulations, incorporating the ESCP proposal, the existing Land Use Code, Boulder County Comprehensive Plan, and Boulder Valley Comprehensive Plan. This docket was placed on hold and no Code changes were presented to the Planning Commission or the Board of County Commissioners for adoption.
At this time, there are no plans to move this docket forward. Significant staff resources were committed to the Eldorado Springs Townsite Initiative from 2008 to 2013, and these resources are not currently available.
Information on the background and comprehensive plan is available on the Eldorado Springs Townsite Planning page. For past study of potential regulations related to structures sizes, heights, and setback, please visit the Eldorado Springs Bulk Size Study page.
