Application or Registration Deadline: 03/27/2021
Project Date: Sat, March 27, 2021 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Opportunity Type: One-Time Volunteer Opportunity
Department: Parks & Open Space
Category: Open Space, Environment, and Gardening
Time Commitment & Minimum Age: 18 yrs & older
Program Summary:

Time for some spring planting! The creek is high but our banks are bare, and we need your help. Come join us at one of our restoration sites on St Vrain Creek, where we are working to stabilize banks and improve creek habitat for our native flora and fauna. We’ll be planting plugs of various wetland species, consisting of mostly sedges (genus Carex), into constructed soil lifts to prevent erosion. We will provide all the necessary tools and gloves, so all you need to do is come prepared to get slightly muddy and possibly sweaty, learn a little, and have a good time!
