Program Summary:
Volunteers, once trained, are paired one-on-one with older adults who either live alone or with a family or informal caregiver. During weekly two-hour visits, they provide friendship, reassurance and companion level assistance with activities such as conversation, reading, shopping and social outings. No hands-on care required. If the older adult lives with a caregiver, these visits enable that person to take a much-needed break.
