Program Summary:

Volunteers monitor rangeland health on Boulder County agricultural land by visiting established data points to assess current resources and trends over time. This volunteer opportunity is ideal for volunteers who wish to work with a partner.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Digitally photograph each location as outlined.
  • Report data collected to volunteer coordinator in timely fashion.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Experience in rangeland and/or plant ecology or natural resource background.
  • Native plant identification experience and knowledge of local plants is desirable.
  • Proficiency with digital photography preferred.
  • Be in good physical shape and able to work on varying and possibly rough natural terrain.
  • Must have personal transportation.
  • Ability to navigate to established points using maps and/or GPS coordinates.
Training Dates and Information:
  • Attend one field training in June (TBA time and location).
  • Commit to at least one season of monitoring.
