Program Summary:
List A weeds are mandated for eradication across Colorado and negatively affect healthy biodiversity. We need your help to keep this bad actor at bay.
Hairy willow-herb is typically found in waterlogged soils and easily tolerates inundation. Infestations can clog small waterways and displace native vegetation, increasing bank erosion and degrading wildlife habitat. Hairy willow-herb spreads easily into undisturbed areas and can form monotypic stands in wetlands. Each mature plant can produce up to 70,000 seeds, which can be wind-dispersed thanks to a tuft of long white hairs on the oblong, flattened seeds.
This is where you come in! Join Boulder County weed specialists to help remove this invasive plant. The project involves walking in and near water on uneven terrain. Rubber boots will be provided, or bring your own for the best fit.
Sign up today to learn more about invasive weeds, their impact on the landscape, and how you can help stop the spread of this List A species.
