Boulder County regulates construction in the County right-of-way to maintain the integrity of the road system and minimize negative impacts to the traveling public during the construction process. A Construction Permit is needed to construct or maintain any road, drainage, or other improvement within County right-of-way. A Construction Permit is also required for private driveways serving more than one parcel. A County Construction Permit is not necessary for the installation or maintenance of public utilities. For utility work and permitting, please apply for a Utility Construction Permit.
