Switch Together

Go solar for less cost and less hassle with Boulder County Switch Together, a partnership between Boulder County and Solar United Neighbors. Previously, the county ran similar programs with Solar United Neighbors called Solar Switch and the Boulder County Solar Co-op.

Going solar with Switch Together is simple:

  1. Register by June 18.
  2. Pay a fully refundable $150* deposit to get in touch with an installer.
  3. Decide whether solar is right for you.
  4. Sign a contract at Switch Together’s discounted group rate.
  5. Installers get started!

*The $150 deposit will go directly toward your installation if you decide to sign a contract. If you decide solar is not right for you, the full $150 deposit will be refunded.

Switch Together uses a group buy model to provide high-quality solar installations at a discounted rate. In this model, solar installers compete for a bulk contract by submitting proposals to Switch Together, and a panel of experts selects an installer for the group buy based on factors including cost and quality.

Success Stories

Three family members pose in their driveway. Their blue home behind them hosts new solar panels on the roof. The family members hold signs that say "we went solar!"

Justin Mack and his family, from Longmont, CO, participated in a previous solar group buy, motivated to play their part in helping the environment. “Going solar was a great way to reduce our carbon footprint, and it made sense financially too,” the Macks said this past winter. “The resources and support from the program are great. The contractors they selected were absolutely fabulous.

a county resident with dark hair and a blue jacket poses in front of her home. Her home features solar panels on the roof and she is holding a yellow and red sign that reads "we went solar!"

Sapna Brahmanandam, from Superior, CO, says that her family’s new solar panels are part of a trend in her neighborhood to use Colorado’s 300+ days of sun to save money on electricity. “We’ve been hitting our mark for a long time,” she says. Plus, it resonates with their environmentally conscious values.
