Emergency Services Unit

The Emergency Services Unit of the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office fulfills the Sheriff’s statutory responsibilities in search and rescue, hazardous materials incidents, natural disasters, and coordination with other emergency service providers in Boulder County.

We also share seasonal safety information – such as tubing bans – to help keep residents and visitors safe.

What to Know Before You Go

  • Tell someone your plans: starting point, route, destination, and expected return time.
  • Carry extra water, food, and clothing. Colorado weather can shift quickly, even in summer.
  • Make sure your cell phone is fully charged before heading out.

For the cost of a CORSAR card, you help ensure trained, well-equipped rescue teams can respond when you need them most.
