Auction Process

A lienholder, beginning three years after a lien is purchased, may apply to our office for an auction of the liened property. Please contact us at 303-441-3520 for details.

All persons with an interest in the property will be notified of the auction date and location. The auction details will also be published in the newspaper.

The lien can be redeemed up until the time of the auction. If the property remains unredeemed, an auction for a Certificate of Option for Treasurer’s Deed will be held. This certificate entitles the holder to a deed for the property.

Junior lienholders should contact our office to file the paperwork necessary to claim any overbid that may result from the sale.
