Home Energy Rating for Boulder County

Accredited Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) for Boulder County

Boulder County BuildSmart regulations require a Home Energy Rating, also known as a HERS rating, for all projects that are using a HERS rating to comply with the code Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET).

A RESNET model prepared by an Energy Rater must be provided with the building permit application showing compliance with the required HERS Index rating.

You are encouraged to familiarize yourself with these regulations and establish a preliminary relationship with a HERS Rater so that you will understand the potential effect the Boulder County BuildSmart may have on your project. A list of raters can be found on the Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) website.
