Resource Conservation Advisory Board (RCAB)

The Resource Conservation Advisory Board (RCAB) was formed in 2002 to advise the Board of County Commissioners on major waste diversion policies and strategies. RCAB meets on the 4th Wednesday of each month from 4:45 – 6:30 p.m.

Occasionally, the schedule is adjusted due to holidays or other significant events.

  • Five at-large community members, one representative from Boulder County government and one representative from each of the following sectors – material reuse; academic / educational institution; environmental non-profit or advocacy group; recycling, composting or C&D processor; and hauling business that is licensed in Boulder County (appointed by the County Commissioners)
  • One representative from each of the following communities (appointed by the community that they represent) – Boulder, Erie, Jamestown, Lafayette, Longmont, Louisville, Lyons, Nederland, Superior, and Ward.

Subcommittee Meetings

Recycling Ordinance Subcommittee Meeting

An informal subcommittee was formed in 2023 to create a draft recycling ordinance for use by municipalities within Boulder County seeking to improve recycling efforts in their communities. The subcommittee will create a draft ordinance to share with the broader RCAB members for final review.
