Niwot Local Improvement District (LID)

Background

The Niwot Local Improvement District Advisory Committee is an independent board that advises the Boulder County Commissioners on improvements to the Niwot Local Improvement District (LID). The advisory committee prioritizes the allocation of LID sales tax revenue for projects such as capital improvements, community events, event promotion, and transportation and transit enhancements. The committee reports to the Boulder County Commissioners, who serve as the Board of Directors for the Niwot LID.

Mission Statement

The Niwot Local Improvement District promotes the economic vitality of the Niwot commercial district through a prioritized investment of designated sales tax revenues.

Vision Statement

The Niwot Local Improvement District Advisory Committee advocates for a thriving business district that promotes inclusivity and sustains Niwot’s unique, authentic culture.

2025 Meeting Schedule

The Niwot Local Improvement District Advisory Committee meets in person at the Niwot Inn, 342 Second Avenue, on the first Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. Members of the public are invited to attend.

Strategic Plan

The Niwot Local Improvement District Advisory Committee adopted the Strategic Plan 2022-2026 in May 2022. The plan includes Niwot Vision 2029 as an addendum.

Niwot Master Plan

The Niwot Local Improvement District Advisory Committee adopted the 2025 Niwot Master Plan in May 2025

Activity, Event, and Project Funding Requests

Requests are due no later than 5 p.m. on the Thursday prior to the next LID advisory committee meeting.

The committee reserves the right to postpone decisions on funding requests to future committee meetings.
